Journals

The World Earthquake Engineering was established in 1985, quarterly, co-sponsored by the Institute of Engineering Mechanics (IEM), China Earthquake Administration and the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics.

This journal is devoted to reflecting high-level research achievements and the latest developments of earthquake engineering, to promote scientific exchange between Chinese and foreign scientists and engineers. It has made positive contributions in expanding China’s academic influence in the field of international earthquake engineering so as to improve the theory and practice of earthquake hazards mitigation and disaster reduction. This journal is T2 level in the geoscience field in selected high quality scientific and technological journals by China Association for Science and Technology.

The following is a list of some subject areas describing the scope of the journal, but not limited to:

Strong-motion observation and analysis;

Seismic theory of engineering structure;

Earthquake-damage survey and assessment of structure and engineering system;

Seismic hazard analysis and seismic microzonation;

Geotechnical earthquake engineering and site effects;

Seismic performance and design principles of buildings and lifeline systems;

Structural seismic simulation experiment;

Application of structural control technology and smart materials;

Structural health monitoring;

Codes and standards for seismic design;

Social problems caused by earthquake;

Seismic problems in civil construction, road and bridge, and water conservancy and other projects.
