ANCER—Asia Pacific Network of Centers for Earthquake Engineering Research
Introduction to ANCER
The Asian-Pacific Network of Centers of Earthquake Engineering Research (ANCER) was established in 2001 by 7 centers from Korea, China mainland, USA, Japan and Chinese Taipei. Its vision is to integrate knowledge from different regions, especially those subjected to infrequent high-consequence earthquakes, towards deriving innovative mitigation solutions as well as help educate young professionals. ANCER has since expanded and has developed an international presence through its workshops and student exchange programs. It has expanded globally and become a unique international nonprofit, professional organization with 13 centers in 2009. Today, ANCER has membership and affiliations all over the world, including Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Peru, amongst others.
